To many people, those are just random letters; to fans of trance music however, those letters stand for the online radio show of arguably the best dance act to come out of Britain, Above & Beyond.
Since their beginning as a trio in 2000, Above & Beyond have been turning heads with their vocal trance tracks and remixes such as a club mix for Madonna’s “What It Feels Like for a Girl” and original tracks such as “Alone Tonight” and “Sun & Moon”.
Above & Beyond found critical acclaim with their debut album “Tri-State” as well as their follow-up artist album “Group Therapy”.
On 28 January 2014, the trio released “Acoustic”, a studio album featuring acoustic renditions of their songs. According to Tony McGuinness “The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met … the songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don’t just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track – that’s not how we work. We try to start with a song and it’s usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version.”
During their acoustic show at Porchester Hall, Above & Beyond announced that were working on their third artist album.
On 19 January 2015, “We Are All We Need” was released.
After the historic celebration of the 100th episode of the “Group Therapy” radio show at Madison Square Garden to a total of 13 000 fans (and many more watching the live stream online), Above & Beyond started touring the globe again.
From the 17th – 18th April, Above & Beyond will be performing live in South Africa in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, with support acts such as the immensely talented Protoculture, the big dawg himself, DJ Fresh, as well as Dean Fuel, Chris Taylor and Ryan Murgatroyd
We’re huge fans of Above & Beyond and we know that many of you are as well, so thanks to some of our friends, we have General Access tickets to give away to both the Cape Town and the Johannesburg shows!
We’re giving away a set of double tickets (yes, 2 tickets per winner, because who wants to go to a party like this on their own) to go see Above & Beyond:
