“See the great, feel the great” is LG’s catchphrase when it comes their latest flagship smartphone, the G4.
Touting a leather back (or a plastic back with different design effects for those opposed to leather) a quantum IPS display and near DSLR camera capabilities, the G4 is definitely living up to its slogan.
Unveiled to South African media last night, the G4 is the next evolution in LG’s rise in the Android smartphone market.
LG has opted to go with very minor cosmetic changes to the G4 in their bid to create a device that is instantly recognizable as an LG product. It would’ve been nice though to see a little bit more put into the design especially from a company always spouting the virtues of great design. That being said however, the G4 is not an unattractive phone.
It features a slim arc design with the rear of the device showing off a subtler version of the curved back found on the G Flex 2. The front of the device however is flat.
LG has also opted to include a removable back as well as expandable storage.
The G4 will be available in South Africa in 4 colours (for the rear) : Black leather, tan leather, metallic grey and red (which will be exclusive to Cell C).
Pre-orders are expected to begin on June 1st with a RRP of R8999.
