One of South Africa’s most prestigious charities, The Sunflower Fund, will be hosting its 9th annual Gala Dinner titled ‘Deconstructed Gatsby’ on Wednesday, 29 July 2015 at the historical City Hall in Cape Town.
With champagne, decadent feasts, and opulent fun aplenty, philanthropists, prominent Capetonians and celebrities will delight in the evening’s entertainment captivated by the essence of a modern-day Gatsby. At this iconic event, the Cape Town City Hall will be transformed in a way Capetonians have never witnessed before. Think red carpet arrival, dramatic lighting, 1920’s Gatsby-themed décor, fashion installations, non-stop entertainment, and musical performances throughout the night.
The entertainment line-up starts with a pop-up fashion installation by one of South Africa’s most sought after fashion labels, KLûK CGDT, then an intimate opera performance, followed by a 1920’s themed swing band, an exclusive silent auction, followed by the highlight of the night – a culinary feast prepared by notable Chef Annalize Buchanan.
Masters of Ceremonies for the evening include TV and radio personalities, Mark Bayly and Tracey Lange, who will no doubt keep guests entertained throughout.
Guests can also look forward to mingling with some of South Africa’s most esteemed VIPs, celebrities and media personalities. Celebrities who have graced the prestigious event include Jen Su, Bridgette Masinga and Liezel van der Westhuizen. Helen Zille, who is a patron of The Sunflower Fund and Bishop Desmond Tutu have been big supporters of this event for several years.
For those who have gone through the ordeal of having a life-threatening blood disorder – or those who have seen a loved one suffer – the importance of an organization such as The Sunflower Fund is invaluable. All proceeds of the event will be donated to the Sunflower Fund and assist in educating, recruiting and raising funds to sustain The South African Bone Marrow Registry.
