Looking for a place to stay is often harder than one thinks, when kicking off the GoTrendSA “Spring things tour” we knew by heart that the only place to go was City Lodge Umhlanga, When we say we did our research, we mean it! Situated in the middle of everything relevant in Kwa-Zulu Natal, City Lodge Umhlanga has something for everyone.
The 3-Star, five story hotel brings forth a luxury feel to it’s guests while letting them experience the beautiful surroundings of the seaside lifestyle. City Lodge Umhlanga had us feeling the vibe as soon as we walked through the doors, friendly porters immediately assisting us right to the reception area, and then to our room.
Being central is key, with one of Africa’s biggest malls just a few steps away and a short ride to the beach, City Lodge Umhlanga is truly the centre piece for any regular or explorer looking to get the full Durban experience. Thats’s right Gateway Theatre of Shopping is situated right across from the hotel bringing a shopping experience right to your doorstep. The main Umhlanga beach is less than a mere 5 kilometres from the hotel which means beach time in no time!
All rooms are accessible through digital cards (no keys = no fuss!) and have the most amazing feel to them. We loved the airy feel in the room whereby we could walk spaciously around to the sitting area and through to other amenities such as the flat screen television, desk/dressing area even to the en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower. What’s more, being fashionista’s the most important thing to us is closet space, and City Lodge had plenty of it!
Walking downstairs, City Lodge Umhlanga has their very own in house coffee shop and sundowners bar that is a treat for any resident when they’re looking to just chill out indoors after a long day We especially love the fact you can sit right by the pool with the deck chairs while sipping on a cocktail!
