On Saturday morning Clearwater Mall in the Westrand was abuzz with shoppers anxious to get inside the all new H&M Store! The fourth store launching in South Africa in only a few months has brought tons of anticipation from fashionistas and loyal H&M fans alike. The line started as early as 5AM in the morning with keen shoppers ready to get inside and go mad over the stores first opening day surprises.
Around 800 customers started queueing in the morning to see the 2200 sqm store, which offers apparel; underwear; sportswear and accessories for ladies, men and kids. To further extend their offering, the store also offers the H&M Plus Collection, which is a stylish yet contemporary range in larger sizes.
We were one of the first to grab a sneak peak inside before the crowd went wild and we were super impressed on some of the brand new implementations that H&M South Africa had offered into their stores! The first 300 customers in the queue received a goodie bag and a gift card to spend at the store. In addition, customers were treated to ice-cream, a momento photo booth and were entertainment by DJ Zero.
What we really loved the most about H&M’s collection was the fact that some collections were known as green friendly. Which means that older clothing was recycled into a new garment or greener methods of production went into the creation of the newer goods on the rack. We love that H&M is taking this seriously and with a price that SA consumers can really connect with.

They also offer a little incentive for you to bring in some old clothing you don’t wear anymore in exchange for a 15% off H&M voucher. Whether there’s that t-shirt thats gone out of style or those jeans that don’t look so great anymore you can bring them in and use the discount on something new in store.
