A celebration of fashion as a powerful tool for change, the #NicciSS19 #FashionToolForChange launch party on Wednesday 7th August 2019 from 9am-6pm is set to showcase our sensibly stylish, sustainable and easy to wear Spring/Summer 2019 fashion offering; peppered with Press, Fashion Journalists, South African Personalities, VIP shoppers and guests at Hyde Park Corner, Africa’s Centre of Luxury.
The start of a new season calls for a clean slate, and you can expect crisp white garments and calming neutrals in natural fabrics, such as linen, lace, cotton and silk, with tactility being an integral element at Nicci. This season is all about sustainability and is shaped by Mother Nature, with the colour palette inspired by the natural hues and tones of the ocean, forests, sunsets and flowers. Feminine florals and frills and ruffles, reminiscent of the ebb and flow of the ocean, are in abundance, with denim as a wardrobe staple. Animal print has stamped its paw of approval in an array of interesting colour combinations, adding a bold statement to your basics and Spring/Summer 2019 is all about standing out.
Sip on a selection of gourmet coffees, brought to you by the Southern Sun Hotel Hyde Park, paired with a tantalising tasting table from Fine Boulangerie and Pâtisserie, Just Teddy, whilst browsing the beautiful brand activations. Let your hands do the talking with complimentary manicures from the Sorbet Express Nail Bar, followed by hand massages and treatments by Jo Malone. The FoxBox Express Eyebrow Bar will ensure guests’ brows are on fleek, while Gosh Cosmetics will be doing makeup touch-ups. For that final touch, Jimmy Choo will be showcasing the latest fragrances for men and women.
Glampalm was also in attendance styling guests hair and making them selfie ready! The Glam Palm tools are very special as they’re boosted with “no damage” technology: “Glampalm stylers and curlers have a unique and patented secret in all their products called “Healing Stone” – This is the magical ingredient for unmatched performance.” A portion of the sales of every styling tool sold in South Africa and South Korea goes towards an NGO for change – to help those who have lost their loved ones to crime. Which is an added bonus to a fabulous styling tool. For more on Glampalm, check them out here.
Guests got treated to a sizzling Summer soundtrack by one of Jozi’s hottest DJ’s, DJ Kimmy K as well as Nicci’s signature golden goodie bags valued at R2000 and stocked with stylish spoils from Dermalogica, Jo Malone, Gosh Cosmetics, Jimmy Choo, Soy Lites, Batiste, The French Lemon, Just Teddy, Five Roses, Freshpak, Happy Culture Kombucha, Esse Skincare, Sorbet OPI product, KitKat, Carlton Hair and many more.
As we embark upon Women’s Month, and just ahead of Women’s Day, Nicci is calling cover girls everywhere to experience the latest in gorgeous prêt-à-porter garments and accessories; as well as the opportunity to interact with the signature Nicci window display, where you can feature on your very own magazine cover.
Nicci also stands for fashion with a purpose and there will be a giant bag outside the Nicci Boutique in Hyde Park Corner for individuals to donate their gently worn pre-loved pieces, for the month of August. These garments will be donated to Dress for Success, a not-for-profit social impact organisation that improves the employability of women in need by providing, free of charge, professional clothing, a support network and career development tools.
Additionally, Nicci will be donating R15 from each transaction on the day of the launch to Women 4 Women, which was founded by Cindy Nell-Roberts. Women 4 Women is a non-profit organisation (NPO) which focuses on female empowerment and community upliftment.
Be the tool for change, and as you stock up your Spring/Summer 2019 wardrobe, you can help clothe those in need.
