IGN Africa’s site: africa.ign.com has officially launched, bringing the world’s premiere gaming and entertainment site to gamers in Africa including South Africa, Mauritius, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania and 13 other Southern African Development Community region territories. IGN Africa is brought to you by Johannesburg-based publisher of NAG (South Africa’s leading gaming magazine) and owner of rAge (the annual gaming expo extraordinaire).
The site dominates the digital landscape: it’s where more than 50 million like-minded entertainment enthusiasts go to get their daily fix of video game reviews, expert opinions, news on the industry as well as upcoming blockbuster titles and of course a selection of news from Hollywood. IGN’s opinion is respected around the world by focusing on quality and relevance in this busy industry and also focusing on quality information brought to the world first.
An important part of IGN’s expansion into new territories around the world is to bring localised content to those places, meaning news for the gamers in those territories by gamers in those territories.
