WONDERboom and Jason Hartman to rock out in Fourways!
Music lovers will be treated to an unforgettable evening when two of South Africa’s best live rock acts – WONDERboom and Jason Hartman – appear on the same stage on Thursday 27 November at Smuggler’s Pub in Fourways from 8pm.
We’re fast heading towards the end of the year and the Festive Season, so what better way to celebrate that than by watching three incredible acts within the space of a few hours, appearing together in Fourways for the first time.
This evening has been organised in response to the incredible demand WONDERboom has had over the last while to appear in Fourways and they have listened to their fans!
Entrance Fee is R60, and the performances kick off at 8:30pm with Special Guest David Beretta Owens opening the evening and adding his own unique flavour to the gig.
Cito has worked with Jason on a number of events and recently in September WONDERboom and Jason Hartman were part of the Peace Starts 2014 Concert and clicked instantly so when the opportunity arose for them to share the same bill, both jumped at the chance.
Cito had this to say; “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jason on a couple of shows lately and have been blown away by his rocking talent and infectious rapport with people. When it comes to rock n roll, Jason is the real deal! David Beretta Owens is a legend with smooth vocals and killer songs. I can’t wait to rock out Smuggler’s Pub with my WONDERbros, Jason
and David. It’s a really cool venue! That evening is also our bassist, Wade’s birthday, so an extra reason for us to celebrate!”
Audiences will be treated to all those unforgettable hits from WONDERboom that has given them almost cult-like status amongst their fans in the early 1990’s and 2000’s, and the instantly recognisable hits Idols winner, Jason Hartman has performed continuously to audiences all over South Africa. His repertoire will include hits from the rock, folk and Americana world in an acoustic format.
WONDERboom has much to be proud of. Having celebrated their 18th year in the music industry earlier this year, they are one of South Africa’s longest existing rock bands, and still going strong.
They have released 8 albums, headlined every major SA festival, been nominated for 5 SAMA’s (South African Music Awards), and won a Kanna Award and People Crystal Award in 2003 for South Africa’s hottest band. They also won the South African leg of the 2004 Global Battle of the Bands and came second worldwide, all while maintaining the level of music that audiences love.
Always a crowd favourite at festivals and intimate venues alike, they are currently in studio again, working on their 9th album… Follow them on Twitter : @WONDERboomBand
Singer songwriter Jason Hartman’s love for music was evident from a very young age but it was in 2009 Idols that truly put Jason on the map as one of South Africa’s finest acts. He lost a bet with a group of friends and was challenged to enter the competition at the age of 29 a year before the contest’s cut-off age. Jason ended up sharing the win with Sasha-Lee.
His predominantly self-penned debut album has been his biggest dream to date. Two songs, Break the Silence and On the Run, became number one hits across the country with the third single, Chasing Stars, having achieved considerable radio airplay across the country.
Since then Jason has continued to wow all South Africans far and wide with his dynamic rapport and stage presence. He is currently in the process of releasing his much anticipated 2nd album.
Versatile, adaptable and talented – Jason describes himself, with a grin, as “just an authentic, down – to – earth guy who happens to be a muso!” Twitter: @J_asonHartman
