It’s everything in one – the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, reviewed.

In 2022, Chinese company, Chery made a comeback of note here in South Africa. Chery produces a wide range of vehicles, from budget hatchbacks to full-size SUV’s. The Tiggo 4 Pro, which we were lucky enough to do a long-term review on is one of their mid-size SUV offerings, and competes in a very popular and hotly contested market segment. Here’s our look at the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro.

Designed and styled for the modern urban go-getter, the Tiggo 4 Pro is one of the most advanced compact SUVs in its class: packed full of the latest tech – with performance, safety, and comfort features to match. From the first glance to the driving experience to the looks on the street, the Tiggo 4 Pro makes an impression, and first impressions last.

Chery has designed the Tiggo 4 Pro to be quite noticeable, the characteristic Diamond-Shape Grille really sticks out and gives the car an elevated feel while the three contours of Tiggo 4 Pro’s body not only create a sense of athletic power, but channel airflow to ensure overall stability.

Powerful at low speed with continuous power at high speed, the Tiggo 4 Pro’s durable and reliable naturally aspirated engine and transmission makes for great fuel efficiency and easier driving with more direct power output, higher transmission efficiency, and faster shift response.

When it comes to tech, the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has to be one of the most jammed packed, feature-filled cars we’ve seen in a while, just take a look at some of these highlights:

10.25-Inch Touch Display Screen: The Tiggo 4 Pro’s takes in-cabin tech to the next level with a 10.25-inch UHD ultra-clear floating LCD screen with resolution up to 1920×720

8-inch LCD A/C Touch Screen: 8-inch LCD A/C Touch Screen, fully equipped with IML (In-Mould Labelling) process, capacitive touch screen, sound feedback, and a physical button. It’s also dust proof, waterproof and corrosion resistant.

7-inch LCD Instrument Cluster: The Tiggo 4 Pro’s high resolution instrument display interacts with the car other screen, displaying all the warning and driving information you need as well as audio, multimedia, communication information, so you won’t have to look at different screens while driving.

Audio and Voice Control: The Tiggo 4 Pro’s comes with both Apple CarPlay and Android AUTO, complete with voice trigger activation, so you can make calls, play music and activate navigation – all via voice alone.

Clever Keys: Alongside one button start and keyless entry, the Tiggo 4 Pro’s car key automatically opens the car within 1.5 meters, and lock it when you’re 2 meters away – saving you time and improving your safety. The engine anti-theft system only identifies the original key. If there is illegal entry, the car will automatically cut off the circuit immediately.

Overall, the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is a decent option in the mid-size SUV market. It’s a good value proposition and is completely capable in the urban environment. The starting price sits around R269 900 for the entry level model, but it doesn’t cost too much more to really get the bells and whistles you’ll find on cars that are double the price!
