On Sunday, 14th of October popular barbados-born singer Rihanna wowed crowds at the FNB Stadium (aka Soccer City). Crowds who have been waiting since the announcement of her Diamonds World Tour South African stop, finally got to witness her in action.
As soon as the crowd saw her and her guards walking up the stage, everyone knew that the treat was to begin! Rihanna hit the stage singing “Phresh out the runway” off her latest album, Unapologetic. A lot of fans took to social media sites Facebook and Twitter to say that the sound in her first couple of songs was poor, but eventually got worked out.
Within the concert Rihanna sang songs such as Pour it up, Where have you been, Stay and many of her older favourites like: Umbrella, Only Girl in the world and Please don’t stop the music.
The last song that Rihanna sang traditionally was one of her recent hits, “Diamonds.” With the crowd very pleased (and some even crying!) Riri made a lot of fans very happy! Rihanna walked off the stage wrapped in a South African flag, that totally matched her SA Styled nails!
With Big Concerts bringing names as big as Riri to SA, we can’t wait to see what’s happening in the nearby future! Rihanna is still set to perform in Cape Town on Wednesday, October 16th. Navy get ready for the performance of a lifetime!
