Many of us, gamer or not, have grown up with Mortal Kombat and each of us have our favourite character that we love to play as in the game.
Well, 2015 brings a new way to experience Mortal Kombat (and we’re not just talking about Mortal Kombat™ X).
South Africa is one of the countries selected from around the globe to participate in the Mortal Kombat™ Cup this year. Mortal Kombat™ X is one of the most anticipated titles for 2015 and with the Mortal Kombat™ Cup landing on African soil; excitement is mounting now more than ever.
South Africans have the opportunity to be involved in a global gaming experience, fuelled by the popularity of Mortal Kombat™, the internationally acclaimed and number one fighting game franchise. The South African MK Cup tournaments will proudly be hosted by Ster Kinekor Entertainment, which will see the presence of local celebrities as well as our top gamers showing off their fighting skills and dexterity.
In search of the top 16 finalists, qualifying events will be held in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban during the month of May taking the qualifiers all the way to the MK Cup SA Grand Final on 6th June 2015, where one finalist will be crowned as South Africa’s best Mortal Kombat™ X player. Hosted in the City of Gold, the finals will not only offer a R 30 000,00 prize pool for the top three participants, but also exclusive spot prizes for the spectators. The winner will walk away with a 20th Anniversary PlayStation®4 console as well as automatically qualify for a seat in the Grand Final which will take place in France, at the Japan Expo!
Whether you are a spectator or participant, there is no doubt that everyone will be sitting on the edge of their seats with spectacular prizes up for grabs.
